I just found out that I have high cholesterol, high ldl, hdl is good though, so are triglycerides, etc. My ldl was 211. That's pretty high. I've been learning about ADF, alternate day fasting. Actually more specifically I'm going to do what's known as 4:3. On it you eat four days and fast 3 days in between your eating days. So I'll fast M,W,F, and eat TTSS. This not only helps you lose weight, fat, it is also good for lowering cholesterol as well as other number on a blood test. To start with on my fasting days I'll drink broth and/or have a small meal, no more than 500 calories, if I need it to adjust to fasting. Then after my initial breaking in time I plan to go to a true 36 hour fast on MWF. Let me know if you have tried this and any tips or suggestions. Thanks!

Did you fast before your test? I think 12 hours is optimal. Is your hdl to triglyc ratio good. My doctor says that one is very important. I usually focus on improving my hdl for that reason by eating good fats and exercising. Good luck to you. When is your next test?

Thank you. I did fast more than 12 hours. I'll need to look at the ratio though, thanks for letting me know about that. I've just heard lots of good things about fasting so I'm going to give that a try. I go in for another blood test in 2 months so that should tell me something. Thanks for your support!
