The day before I started back on Atkins I went clothes shopping. I have been one size above my "normal" size 18 for about a year. I knew I was in trouble when my size 20/22 "fat clothes" size began fitting tighter and tighter, so I knew I was above "normal"; but I thought maybe one size above. Wrong. I was having trouble fitting into a 26! I had already decided to begin Atkins, but that moment was surely a wake up call.
Yesterday, I began fitting into 22s again. Not perfectly, but at least I know I am moving back down the size ladder. My first goal is to get back into my "normal" wardrobe size 18. After that I would like to go to a 14. I haven't been smaller than a 14 since the 10th grade. So, we'll see how it goes from there. But it is encouraging to see my body changing for the better.
