The day before I started back on Atkins I went clothes shopping. I have been one size above my "normal" size 18 for about a year. I knew I was in trouble when my size 20/22 "fat clothes" size began fitting tighter and tighter, so I knew I was above "normal"; but I thought maybe one size above. Wrong. I was having trouble fitting into a 26! I had already decided to begin Atkins, but that moment was surely a wake up call.

Yesterday, I began fitting into 22s again. Not perfectly, but at least I know I am moving back down the size ladder. My first goal is to get back into my "normal" wardrobe size 18. After that I would like to go to a 14. I haven't been smaller than a 14 since the 10th grade. So, we'll see how it goes from there. But it is encouraging to see my body changing for the better.

Congratulations to you! I truly know that feeling. I'm happy I read this because I went and actually put on a pair of my 16s I haven't been able to wear for months. I can't zip them, but I can pull them up over my hips and thighs and button them which is more than I've been able to do for ages!

Yup clothes shopping was just like that for me too. When I was growing out of the biggest at the time I really freaked. One of my goals is to able to buy regular sized clothes, something to look forward to!
