"But", and a really big one, you've already declared you are starting back on your weight loss eating plan. We all have situations like yours..that's what happens in life. Changing any habit is usually a bumpy road "but" I'm glad you're not beating yourself up and continuing down the wrong path. Congrats on making a great choice👍

I’ve found SOME success eating really lightly before a social event with food so I can eat more at the party. 🎈 I hope you find an approach that works for you without hiding from events

Absolutely portion your calories so you can enjoy the event. Just do not skip meals in preparation for the event. You get too hungry and moderation and portion control go out the window.

I try to look at my calendar for the week & determine when I have social time scheduled. Then I work around those days to plan how to attack them. Maybe eat less/ no alcohol the days you are at home for meals. If something comes up impromptu then do like you're doing & get back into it afterwards.

My rule at social events, no more than three bites of any one food and savor each bite. Choose the best four or five foods to savor, that's my limit. Only ONE alcohol-based beverage, then water, coffee or tea. That is how I survived (and enjoyed) the month of Houston Restaurants Weeks in August.
