Hello! My name is Charity. I'm a single mom to an amazing 15 year old girl. I'm a full-time student in grad school, getting my master's degree in marriage and family counseling.
I honestly haven't really tried a lot of "fad" diets. I have done weight watchers and when I follow the plan I have been pretty successful. But it's expensive and I can't seem to keep it up on my own.
Honestly, I know I use my weight as a defense mechanism. I was hurt terribly by my daughter's father. And since I know most guys don't like heavy girls I use my weight to keep from getting hurt. However, I want something better for myself. I want to be healthier. So for right now, I'm not going to focus so much on losing weight, but on getting more exercise and eating better.
I have recently started walking. I have a pedometer and my goal is to work up to 15,000 steps a day. Right now my goal is to get at least 11,000 a day.
Food wise I am just trying not to eat so much crap. Luckily because of finances I haven't really been eating out so that helps. But I work in fast food. So I just try to stay away from the fried stuff as much as possible!
