Iwantdoughnuts's Journal, 09 Aug 19

I need a place to rant.

I’ve been terribly hungry for last couple of days.

I’ve been steadily losing weight, but I by no means “starve myself” to achieve it. I eat moderate amount. I don’t drastically cut carbs. In fact, I had 2 cinnamon rolls this week because this cravings drove me completely nuts.
I had dinner only 2 hours ago and I’m already feeling like I haven’t eaten anything for 18 hours.

Not sure if this has something to do with my weight, which is starting to enter the spectrum of “underweight” according to BMI. Being underweight is definitely not my goal. I set my goal which is currently on my FS account (118lb for 5’7, what the hell?) when I had a not very healthy image of “an ideal body”.

However, whenever I reach for any food, I feel like “Seriously? Are you still gonna eat?” and gives up eating. I’m still hungry.

This post is not very organized, but these are what’s currently going on in my head and body.

Are you lifting? Then you probably need more calories. Eat and try for a balance. The goodies aren't going to hurt you, but concentrate on mostly good carbs, fats, and protein. One pound is not the be all to end all and may not be a practical goal for the long-term. You health and well-being without an obsession on food or a number are of primary importance.

Sounds like your brain is telling you that you need more nutrients... I dont know... If I feel like ny stomach is growling even after I have net my calorie count, I have a banana or a thick slice of ham as a snack. Ota hard to meter when we should or shouldnt eat but I try not to ignore gut feelings! Keep your head up regardless, find that spark that reactivates your motivation to keep you purpulsing forward in an energetic and confident way.

I noticed that you eat alot of salad also. I was extremely hungry eating salad also. I dont exercise but I found that eating really big salads was stretching my stomach out and that may be where the hunger is coming from. I hope you figure it out. I can still eat 1500 calories and lose weight. My page shows what I eat. Not so exciting, but check it out if you want. Have a good night.

My google home mini says you are underweight. Go eat 3 donuts and lift heavy stuff. That's my advice. You'll get muscle and donuts. Nothing better than that.

I'm a 5'7" female and I am aiming for 135 lbs. I think for me, that would be way too skinny. Normal intake for me would be 2200, but I have an underactive thyroid, so I'm aiming for 1800-2000 calories a day. I have to try both and see which one works better, then I'll let you know.

Protein is pretty satiating! If I ever feel hungry, I allow myself to indulge in a high protein item and it (generally) helps. There are some days that you just need to eat more of whatever is appropriate for your WOE. Good luck!!!

Iwantdoughnuts, if your BMI is objectively "underweight," that's not good. I looked at your food diary. IMHO, you are undereating, depriving yourself of sufficient calories and nutrients for good health, and courting illness. This has the appearance of an eating disorder. Whether you have a history of an eating disorder or not, perhaps it's time for you to consult an internist and a psychologist.

@Iwantdoughnuts, no wonder you're hungry! For the four days you logged your food in July, you averaged only 610 calories (Fat: 24.92g, Protein: 30.02g, Carbs: 69.78g) per day. For the three days you logged your food in August, you averaged only 731kcal (Fat: 29.77g, Protein: 34.77g, Carbs: 80.88g) Objectively, you need to consume sufficient protein, fat, and calories -- a more balanced dietv-- in order to sustain yourself. If you add exercise without improving your nutritional profile, you may lose even more weight. Please, give serious consideration to these observations.

Wow thanks everyone for kind support! Gladly I’m now out of “I’m so hungry” phase (Thanks carbs, I guess) but I realized I need to revise my meal and workout plan. I still don’t like how my body looks (Little muscles so it looks not so fit despite of my weight.) but I have to get over this. I need to buy another pair of dumbbells besides my 6lb sets haha. And to people who worried that my calorie intake is significantly low according to my diary, please don’t worry and I’m sorry for confusing you. I just still often forget to write down what I eat. I swear I eat 3 meals every day. Probably around 1900 kcal a day.
