Does anyone know how to do Yoga? You can see from my photo that my stomach is too large, so I can’t really do too much. Not to mention I’m extremely not flexible. My diet is going to help with the stomach problem. Anyone know any stretches I can do to help build some flexibility? My long time dream has been to do yoga and it is one of my mid term goals to be able to do it.

I love yoga. I am not an expert or anything. Is there a class in your neighbourhood? I know there is mine. Also on You Tube there is a "trainer" called coachTulin who does plus size exercises. I would perhaps suggest doing some water aerobics or water classes first. Those are very good to start off with.

I don’t really have the ability to join classes or do it in the water. So I have to dig into an at home YouTube course. I found some easy exercises online to get myself exercising at home. I guess I should wait a month before working on my flexibility so that I have a couple inches off of my stomach. But I intend to go all in. At this point it is life or death.

Take clues from your body. I worry about my knees and ankles a bit so I took it very slow when I started. Using a chair and gently working on balance and some easy stretches I think would be great place to begin. What you want to strengthen would be the core so that your back is good and that takes a lot of focus of stomach muscles. You can do that part without putting too much strain on your body. But proceed slowly

The funny thing is that my legs are extremely in shape. They always have been. When I was 220, I was lifting over 500 for my legs, and I would have done more had there been more on that machine at that gym. My legs aren’t flexible but they are strong. I’ll definitely be working on the stomach muscles. Thank you so much for the advice. You’ve been wonderful when it comes to support and I really appreciate you.

Try looking for DDP yoga on you tube to see what it is about. My sister and I are thinking of trying it out.

I tried looking it up but there is so much on the page that I really couldn’t find what I was looking for. I have a plan set, so I’ll follow that and work my way up to it.

Look up “yoga for humans that can’t touch their toes” it’s a really cute video on YouTube that has really helped me with flexibility

Yoga is not just for the thin. If this is a passion you're feeling right now begin with the moderate movement instruction videos. Then within a month or so you'll be able to increase your range of movements.
