Chris1979's Journal, 28 Jun 10

I did pretty well yesterday at staying within my points... until bedtime. I need to donate all the Chex Mix in my house! Thankfully this is the last bag. And it's the Dark Chocolate mix, which is SO YUMMY! I would have probably shown a bigger loss this morning if it hadn't been for that late night snacking.

My mood has been great this past week. Gotta be partially because of the endorphins from exercise! Today we are going to a place called Iron Hill Brewery (I believe it's a chain but I'm not sure how widespread it is). It's big on beer of course. Luckily I'm not much of a beer drinker so it will be easy for me to stay away from those empty calories.

We went to the grocery store last night and as usual the cashier was less than amused by my stack of coupons. I make no apologies though. My bill went from $120 to $75. Not too shabby. We got corn, asparagus, raspberries, bananas, strawberries, grapes, blueberries, clementines... lots of healthy stuff! Most of which is appearing in my lunch today.

Sadly I'm not going to be out of the 140's by the end of June which I'd been hoping for. I wonder how long it's going to take for me to get back down to 136.4, which was my low recorded in mid-March. I'm hoping by Labor Day to reach my goal of 132. 12 pounds in 9 weeks. 1.33 lbs per week. I think I can do it!!! As long as I remain disciplined.

Freebie: If you go to P&G's site and sign up they will send you a sampler of a bunch of great stuff like laundry detergent, shampoo, dishwashing detergent, etc... plus coupons! Link is here.

THREE THINGS I'M GRATEFUL FOR TODAY:
1) An evening w/ good friends tonight
2) Family time this weekend
3) A good night's sleep

UPDATE: Only 17 days until my 1 year anniversary w/ Fat Secret! My starting weight was 157. I've had some epic fails in this past year but overall I'm sure I'm at a lower weight and healthier than I would have been if I had not found this fabulous site! :)

I am just full of words today. We found a solution to our weekend doggy care dilemma. I know people who aren't "dog people" won't really relate to this but as I said earlier I feel SO GUILTY dropping my kids (pups) off at a kennel. So we found a great last minute deal at the pet friendly Holiday Inn in Alexandria, VA. We get to see family AND we didn't have to leave Lily and Howie behind. Whew.

Also... I just realized that I'm finally out of the red and into the orange. Once I get below 141 I think I'll be back in the yellow. YAY.

Have a great day buddies!

Sadly? Christina you are doing very well!!! The number is just a number and the bigger picture is that your way of being with you has shifted considerably and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind at all, as you continue to practice this way of being that you will find yourself reaching the goals you have set for yourself!! I want to become a coupon queen like you!!! My problem is time. Any suggestions for how to become a coupon queen on a limited time and brain cell budget?

Sure!!! Let someone else do the work for you! Lots of stay at home moms take great pride in finding all the coupon matchups and sharing them online. I will PM you my favorite sites! :)

Good for you with the coupons. I don't shop that much so looking for discounts online usually means spending money I wasn't going to spend in the first place. Haha. But I definitely am getting better at looking through the food coop's monthly circular and buying stuff that's on sale. And I agree about your mindset shifting even if you aren't seeing the numbers you want to be seeing.

Actually, though, sale buying can be a downfall for me. Last week I bought three packages of cookies, which I normally never have in the house, just because they were on sale. So double good for sticking only with the healthy discounts.

I used to fall for that Beets... especially when Chex Mix was 50 cents and Warm Delights (brownies) were free! Now I really try to stick to the fresh stuff or at least organic. They are actually starting to have coupons for that type of stuff now. :)

I want to get all those coupons Chris. Which site do you look for them on? I am going shopping tonight and would love to see such a great drop in my bill. Great for you. I like that Moose..."The Coupon Queen"

I should check it out. I do prefer to buy organic stuff but it makes the food bill increase exponentially.
