I can't do them, makes me crave sugar.

The artificial sweetener is the culprit. Do a little research and you will find the body recognizes it as if it were real sugar. It also increases your craving for carbs.

what are some alternatives to soda? plain water makes my stomach hurt after about the first bottle.

Bought water? All brands? Nestle & Zephyrhills don't fit well for me, but Dasani and Smart Water do. SoBe LifeWater has up until now been my preference for electrolytes, but confused that the label says 0 carbs and Stevia, Fatsecret logs 7 g of carbs, and Pepsi's website lists it as being sweetened with sucrolose.

I will say I have noticed my carb intake and calories have been halved just by quitting soda! I was literally drinking myself fat!

I use crystal light (made by the pitcher) but with only 1/2 the recommended powder. I use a gallon container and 1 packet instead of 2. Otherwise it's too sweet for me. Everyone is different on how and how much sweeteners affect them so you can always try it and track the way you feel/side effects.

sparking water or soda water with a squeeze of citrus is a great sub for me! be sure to get the ones with only natural flavorings (LaCroix, Polar, or similar with 0 calories) not the flavored sugar water ones with grams of sugar and calories.

Put a few pieces of your fave fruit in water. I like cucumber n lime in my water!!!

I have unsweetened packets of TrueLemon and TrueLime (it's just dehydrated zest and juice) that I add to water just to make it a little fancier than plan tap water.

Just discovered I like 7-8 drops of stevia and 1/2 cap of lemon extract in 16 oz bottle of water.

I always keep a two gallon container of iced green tea in the fridge and use stevia for sweetener. No more pop here.

Yes they are! Crystal light even makes some flavors with Stevia if you want to avoid the aspartame

I also use 1: 2 liter pitcher pack in a whole gallon of water. It’s too strong for me otherwise.

I really like sugar free Country Time Lemonade packets. They've helped me drink a lot more water :-) and on occasion I'll grab a Sprite Zero.

I love the bubbles & sound the soda can makes when I open it so flavoured sparkling water like "bubbly" & "LaCroix" are what works for me. As they are unsweetened I don't need to worry about what kind of sweetener I'm drinking, either!

Today was Day #5 with no soda for me. I find seltzers helpful — it gives me the carbonation without the calories/sugar. Mostly I have just been upping my plain water intact though (but I enjoy and have no issues drinking lots.)

What help me get off sugar was coffee, with whole milk and a little french vanilla creamer or Low carb/no sugar energy drinks e.g. Monster and Rockstar.
