In the last 3 weeks i have fell off the wagon. I have not followed my diet or this way of life for the past 3 weeks. I have chose to eat whatever i want whenever i want. some days i start off doing the diet then fall off the wagon by supper. I found my self unable to become satisfied with what i ate. This was a combination of lack of proper hydration and increase carb intake. However my carb intake was less than appropriate. Instead of whole foods i indulged in potato chips. It was not very much but in one sitting i ate 3/4 of large bag of chips. and i did this a few times in the last few weeks. I also had a handful of fries i stole from my kids. all these indiscretions had set back my weight loss. In the last few weeks i have been hovering above my lowest weight, what is probably worse was the feeling of needing to eat, i tried to choose foods that were acceptable but found myself gorging even on these foods. I realize now that i was not hungry but thirsty. I relied heavily on coffee and energy drink in the past few months to the point where it started to affect my blood pressure.

this week i decided to cut out almost all caffeine (maybe once a day) and increase my water intake. yesterday i consumed almost 5L of water and never felt bloated but when i ate supper i could not eat as much as i did before. I stopped eating when i was satisfied unlike previous weeks where i would eat even past the point of being full - so borderline gluttony.

So with the lack of water in my diet my body retained water and also i tried to silence my body's request for water with food.

I am going to restart my diet this week and keep on the straight and narrow this time.

Good job figuring out what the problem was, then acting on it ! I have a "Fall off the wagon" incident every time I am at home alot (especially on days off) I also know I am doing it, and the Self Punishment I give usually holds me on the good path for quite a while........ then I do it all over again. I think having those moments is necessary, as long as you keep them "in Control" and don't lose focus on your goals. Good Job !
