So I'm trying to watch my net carbs. Man is it hard. 35.9 net carbs but only 654 calories eaten today. I'm way down on calories but too high on net carbs. I know I shouldn't have had the Merci candies which cost me 13 net carbs but beside that everything else was veggies/salad/low carb meal replacement.

Maybe I'll try to squeeze some exercise in since the kids are at play practice today. Though I get tired thinking of that and now I just want a nap and a cup of coffee.

I'll never lose weight this way, or at the very least it will be REALLY slow coming off!

Writing down the food is the first step. Try to get about 4 oz of protein with each meal, and your protein and fat will be in the correct range (or close) Agree, if you eat too little, you are sabotaging your weightloss. Your will likely improve with higher fat/protein.

That’s not enough calories for a normal size adult

@Sismitty -- If you're trying to do a LCHF/keto WOE (which I surmise from your counting "net carbs"), that is WAY TOO FEW calories. Your liver is converting every spare gram of protein to compensate for your "starving" yourself and turning it into glucose. That causes your pancreas to release fat-storing insulin. INSTEAD, use the macro-and-calorie calculator at "ruled.me/ketosis-calculator" to figure out what you should be aiming for. Then, PLAN and LOG your meals a day in advance. That gives you a chance to figure the grams of protein, carbs, and fat, and the calories that you NEED, commit to your plan, and DECIDE that's how you shall eat the next day. If you are just recording what you "think" is right but just cut calories to starvation levels, you will miss the targets you've set for yourself.

the candy was probably the difference. No biggie. Other things to think about is that low calorie foods will add extra sugars so if you want to avoid carbs you should use regular dressing. If you cut carbs this low to go into ketosis adding some fats are helpful in this face. Don't beat yourself up. You will figure something out.

I have also been on Fat Secret for several years losing only about 3 pounds a year. What changed for me was logging ALL my food and weight every day. Just that one change turned it around for me. Basically, I was able to see what was working for me and what was not working for me. In my case there would be NO 'week to week' weight loss when the carbs were above 100. Now, other people have the data to show that they CAN lose with that, so it is *your data* that matters. Good Luck!
