This week my focus is on eating a lot more fruit and veggies. Also I'm going to keep replacing juice/pop with water. Plus I'm going to go look into joining a gym.

Sounds like a good plan. My friend likes to add a splash of her favorite fruit juice to her water.

Great plan - you will start to see weight loss and get even more motivated!

I recommend variety when adding your fruits and veggies, so your meals are always interesting. Adding a little fruit juice or "water enhancer (M1O)" helps with increasing the water intake. I use M10 or the generic no name brand in the store to give a little taste to my water. I have several of these little bottles everywhere (home, work, car) so I can add it to any water anywhere. It helps me drink more. I like the lemonade flavor.

Sea, sounds like you have got some very good ideas. I love your idea of joining a gym. I really feel having a gym to go to changed my life for the better. In the town where I live, we have beautiful YMCA's. They are all new, built within the last ten years, half of them within the last 5 years. The equipment is all new, and there is EVERYTHING, so many classes, so much equipment, so many options - classes, water classes, swimming, racquet sports, adult soccer leagues, walking programs, you name it. It's so wonderful because there is so much you can do, at all fitness levels, from sedentary to very active. It's a warm and accepting place and I have never felt judged there, not now, when I'm a novice to really difficult cardio classes, or 50 pounds ago, when I was one of the heavier people it seemed like walking around.oingG

thanks for the advice everyone! I'll have to try those M10....I've seen them at the store. I'm excited for the gym. I'd love to take classes to just shake up my routine I guess.

Those little steps will start building better habits for the future! The first thing I did in my journey was ditching all the unneccesary calories and carbohydrates. Just after doing that coupled with some light weight training, I lost a good 20-25 lbs in 2 months. You can do this! It's true when they say 80% of this thing is diet! Also note, protein is very filling. Knowing the little tricks like that can be tasty and advantageous.

thanks. I really need to start logging in my food, so I can get a better idea of what I eat...

Log your food. Log your exercise. Every day. Even when you have a rough day. It will help you track what works and what you need to tweak.
