Cricket's Journal, 24 Aug 07

It's getting easier to avoid eating the foods I'm not supposed to eat. Tonight, we were at a potluck, and there was pizza, pasta salads, sandwiches, dumplings, etc. I ate the salad, along with some black bean soup. It was yummy. Then, I passed on the ice cream. I don't want to become overly strict, but I also didn't feel like I was denying myself. Hope it lasts. I'd like to buy some new clothese, but there's a part of me that worries that I'll put the weight back on if I relax.

Good work on the potluck! I'm sure it will last if you keep on being used to the good food. Once you've reached your goal I think it's fine to splurge on ice cream or other treats occasionally--as long as it stays occasional. You're doing a great job. Maybe buying new clothes would actually help-- even if you stop following the diet closely you'll notice if your new clothes get tight and that'll be a cue to get back to work. :)
