Day 4 of induction and I'm feeling even lighter.

I keep finding myself freaking out over what foods I will be able to eat after I lose all of this weight.

I really miss my favorite foods and I don't think I'd consider my favorite foods bad, necessarily, but that those foods should be eaten in moderation, which I know nothing about.

I keep telling myself that right now I just need to focus on LOSING this weight, and by then, I know I will NEVER let myself get fat again. Who knows? I may learn to love healthier foods....plus I'll have plenty of practice in moderation...

I can certianly understand your views on moderation. I know nothing about portion control. Come to find out when I don't actually meausure my food I am so completely unable to even guess what the real potion size is. I have invested in measuring cups for things like rice and pasta so that I have a REAL serving, I also have found that the single serve things work great if I am having something the Hubby wont eat, like brussel sprouts. As well as a kitchen scale for weighing my protiens. I found on at Target for like $20 that weighs everything, from cookies to meats to fruits and veggies and gives you all the info from Calories to fat to sodium. I wish you the best of luck in attaining your goals!!!!

I beleive that moderation is the key. I have really cut back on portions...and I'm liking it. I don't feel so stuffed and drained like I do when I eat a huge meal. After you get to your goal weight you will probably find that you can eat those foods you miss...as long as you don't gorde on them. I like what someone here said...and I appologise for not remembering who....they eat their favorite food once a week...or maybe once every other week..and that satisfies them. I find that I don't get the cravings for some of what once was my faves...and then when I do eat them I feel bad and they really don't taste as good as I thought. So then, I don't miss them quite as much. So keep it up...and I hope you WILL learn to love healthier foods...and good luck!!!!!

You know I found a lot of new favorites since committing to Atkins. The transition to maintenance is not going to be easy, but I know that it will ensure me keeping off all the weight I worked so hard to get off. I'm sure you'll get to that point to. You are right to focus on the now, and deal with that other stuff later. I'm sure you can find a way to make it work for you.
