You're struggling to keep you're calories up BECAUSE you're cutting your carbs. Carbs aren't something that is oozing out of the pit of hell. Carbs are the MAIN energy source for your body to function on. Carbs are good for you. Your body needs carbs.

I am doing low carb high fat. Feeling great and virtually no cravings. Try increasing your fat but focus on healthy fats. I use MCT oil, just a tablespoon has over 100cal. Great source or energy. Also remember if you do go high fat that your gut bacteria will go a bit haywire so try and have some bone broth as well. I use to struggle a lot with IBS, since this diet I haven’t had any issues at all.

Megan Lourens your body does not need carbs. Refined carbs and sugar is poison. watch the documentaries the magic pill and carb loaded. Refined carbs and sugar is the cause of most diseases. I get my carbs from salad and low carb veggies. Extra glucose is usually stored in your liver, muscles and other cells for later use or is converted to fat. The idea behind the low-carb diet is that decreasing carbs lowers insulin levels, which causes the body to burn stored fat for energy

If you're going to follow a low(er) carb lifestyle, then you'll need to up one (or both) of your other macros. Some people increase protein (because it more filling than carbs) or more fat (as mentioned by others in the previous comments). In my experience, fats easily help one meet their calorie needs because they are way more calorie dense than both carbs and fat and, if you take in the right fats, can be satisfying and not leave you feeling hungry. Nuts, seeds, avos, eggs, full fat dairy products (preferably grassfed), coconut milk/cream, etc. But I'd also recommend you experiment with what works best for your body. Everybody is different, and not everyone does well on high protein or high fat or even low carb. I don't think there is a one-size-fits-all solution. It can take a while finding what works for you, and it can be frustrating, but once you've found it, it will be easier to follow it long term and have it be more of a lifestyle than just a diet. Best of luck!!

Streaky bacon and pork belly are the best meats in terms of a higher fat than protein content if ur lazy and don't want to add a fat. The calories in pork belly is off the charts 😁 good luck
