Sunday's visit to the ancient relative involed a trip to their favourite restaurant which I have come to think of as 'Calorie Central'. Essentially you can have anything you like as long as it is on the yello-brown spectrum and deep fried. Yesterday I went to the wine tasting group social group that has reconvened now that term has begun, we taste quite a lot of wine in the 'it would be a real shame to spit this out' sense, and cheese straws are the ubiquitous 'palate cleanser'. I may have eaten quite a few cheese straws. Consequently I am curently avoiding the scales once again.

To make amends I went to the gym this evening. 3x14 minutes of cardio this time on different machines. As a bonus 'Big W' was there who is very into his weight training. He has shown me some how to do a chest press, shoulder press and something with the cable machine to all work on upper body strength (executive summary - I have none) and told me to catch him again when I had done a month with what he had shown me.

The gym-glarer was not there, which pleased me greatly.
