Since the unwelcome weight gain last week I have reverted to daily weight ins so that I have continuous encouragement to be strict about what I eat.
I spent most of last week walking with a stick while the swelling in my bad knee slowly went down. It is still stiff, and I can feel parts of the joint grinding in ways it is not supposed to, but nonetheless it is signifcantly improved. For the last two days I have been back to walking 10,000 steps, although I don't want to push it any further for the time being.
My weight has dropped a little more. After a full month of Huel, keeping track of what I eat and exercise through walking (plus a couple of lapses due to meals out) I have lost a little over 3kg, or 6 bags of sugar as I visualise it. Onto the next month, and hopefully further weight loss.
Yesterday I went to a 'Falconry experience' at the Raptor Foundation which is not far away. Essentially this involved allowing a number of increasingly heavy owls, hawks and then eagles to sit on my left arm, and then be the active particpant in 2 of their flying displays. It turns out that the American Bald Eagle is quite a heavy beast, but also rather mellow and placid.
