I always try to workout on an empty stomach. I find I’m able to do way more and find the thought of an amazing breakfast a great motivator to get me pushing through if it gets tough

It also means that your body can work harder to support your muscles rather than digesting a large meal in your stomach. Apparently this helps you burn more fat

A fitness instructor once told me that if you exercise hard then for a period of time afterwards you burn calories quicker so it’s always better to eat after a workout

You should always eat something before the gym even if its a banana or your body wont have the energy to train. My gym instructor told me off for not eating.

I can’t eat before a workout. I get heartburn. I always try and get my workout in in the morning. I suppose it depends on the length and intensity of the exercise. Anything up to an hour is fine I think although hydration is key. Everyone is different tho. Both my daughters prefer to workout in the evening after a days meals. Do both and you will soon see what suits you best
