Well, today I was down. 214.4
This has been a crappy calorie watching week. I probably should have logged better, and I have had 2 cheeseburger meals this week!
Impending doom of Ramadan is what did it. I dont fast, but the country i am in closes all restaurants during daytime for a month. So all us "infidels" needed to get our lunchtime dining experiences in. The base has more restrictions this year. Its all silly. I get the whole respect the host country thing.
Then I read last night that this only occurs, with the shuttering of businesses, and fines for eating/drinking in public in this core part of the middle east. Egypt, and other countries that are more on the outskirts allow food and drink to be had with discretion...
So I did my bike ride this AM with a very discreet camelbak, and my sun sleeves (which I wear without it being Ramadan) and long bike pants (black). It was hot, not too bad though. It is very hard to not subconsciously drink the water without worrying about who is around, let me just say that. But as I expected, the port is deserted, and I had plenty of safe time to drink. In fact I drank my whole 3L in 20 miles, which is above average.
I rode less, because it is in boring desolate space. I usually right around the north islands, by the airport, but it is too populated with traffic and people for me to be toting a camelbak during the daytime now.
I will probably repeat tomorrow and maybe Sunday too. That should give me 60 miles for the weekend. A good number.
I am like King, I am struggling with my calories ALL week. The kids are out of school, Ramadan is here, stuff is happening at work. It all mixes up into a bad diet program for me. I need to reboot/refocus here, and get back onto calories proper. Should be easy now that is is Ramadan, and we can only eat on base. Let's look at it that way!
Today is cheat day though, and I just had a kick ass breakfast after my bike ride.
I also made home made mayonnaise out of the bacon grease and olive oil. This is for our special sandwiches for lunch. Should not be too cheat-like, and dinner is chicken that was baked. So it is a cheat-day-lite.
Anyway, I have to get a shower. Homework, and generally be lazy and have fun.
Have a good day y'all.
